FAQ
Who is this training for?
This training is for yoga teachers who want to incorporate the Katonah Yoga® theory and material into their classes in an accessible and well-rounded way.
If I don’t have any experience with Katonah Yoga® can I take this course?
Yes! You are welcome to take it if you are newer. The theory takes time to seep in, but it only does so with practice. In this iteration of the training, I have included past lectures to give you an overview of concepts like The Magic Square.
However, it would be make sense to see if our teaching styles click. If you are newer to me or the material, please reach out and I will give you a pass to take a livestream pass and a video archive.
I have also created a resource page for those newer to the material. Please check it out to familiarize yourself with some great stuff out there.
And keep in mind that this an ever evolving practice and the purpose of the course is to enhance what you already know and do. The material is broad, complex, pragmatic and simple, all at the same time. My goal for the course is that you take a small piece of theory and expand from there.
When will the meetings and classes be held? What happens if I cannot make them.
We have a kick-off meeting on Monday, October 12, at 12pm. After that, our meetings and classes will be held every Wednesday from 12-2:30pm. These will be recorded. Practice teaching sessions are Fridays October 23 and November 6. These will not be recorded. You are welcome to submit a video if you cannot make the live practice teaching session.
What should I expect in terms of workload and assignments?
To fulfill the course you will be required to turn in assignments based on the content of the course. Every week there are writing prompts to help digest the material. There are also class-creation and short practice teaching assignments. As part of the course, I will take your online class if you are teaching for feedback. This can be live or on demand.
Will you be offering the course again this year?
No, but it will be offered again in 2021.
